The Bluffs is the gated custom-home section at the far tip of the Steiner Ranch peninsula, deep in the community and about a mile from Lake Austin, where the Steiner Ranch Lake Club has a boat launch and day-use docks. Homes are custom builds, commonly from about 4,000 to 8,000 square feet, on large wooded lots of up to around two acres, many backing onto greenbelt. River Ridge Elementary is close by, the section is in Leander ISD like the rest of the ranch, and residents share the Bella Mar Community Center's pools and courts with Bella Mar and Majestic Oaks.

Being at the end of the peninsula means every trip out winds for miles through the rest of Steiner Ranch before it reaches RM 620, so cars gather hill-road dust and grit along the way. At home they tend to sit under old oak and cedar, which drop sap, pollen and leaves on any car left out of the garage. Large, high-end vehicles on big lots show every swirl and water mark in low evening light. Detailing here is about keeping that finish right: careful hand washing, softening and lifting sap before it hardens, and for many owners a ceramic coating that makes all of it easier to clear.
