Central Texas tap water is hard — it carries dissolved calcium and magnesium. When a droplet evaporates off hot paint those minerals stay behind as a white spot, and baked on in summer they can etch the clear coat. We wash with de-ionized water, which has those minerals stripped out, so it dries clean.

No — an exterior detail removes grime and adds protection, but it does not correct paint. Swirls and scratches need machine polishing, which is part of our Ceramic Coating service.

It depends on vehicle size, paint condition, and how much correction the paint needs before coating. We quote it after looking at the car, which takes a few minutes. Anyone quoting a coating sight-unseen is quoting the coating and not the prep, and the prep is the job.

The case for it here is UV. Central Texas sun is what fades and oxidises clear coat, and a coating adds a sacrificial UV-resistant layer on top of it. The hydrophobic beading also means pollen and dust rinse off instead of bonding on.
