Long Canyon runs down off 2222 on big wooded lots, and cars here collect canopy fallout above and pale road dust below.
Long Canyon runs down the hillside from RM 2222 just past the Loop 360 intersection and is entered by Bell Mountain Drive. Lots are big, mostly one to two acres or more and up to about five and a half, and the homes, largely built from the mid-1980s into the 2000s, sit among mature trees, with some properties looking out over the Hill Country. The neighbourhood borders the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve, so the woods run right up to back fences. Streets are wide, some homes are reached by private drives, two mandatory HOAs cover different phases, and both Austin ISD and Leander ISD serve parts of it.
Cars here take it from two directions. Above, the canopy drops sap, pollen and leaf litter; below, the trip in and out on long drives and hillside roads throws up pale dust that clings to the rocker panels, the rear hatch and the wheels. Hill Country sun on the open stretches of 2222 adds UV on top. The result is paint that goes dull faster than it should and lower panels that never quite come clean with a quick rinse. A proper detail deals with each layer: wheel wells and lower panels cleaned out, sap removed, glass cleared of film, and a sealant or coating to help the finish shrug off dust and fallout.

Yes. As long as a vehicle can get up the drive and there's room around your car, the detail happens right there. You'll just need an outdoor spigot and a standard outlet within reach, and you don't need to be home.

It can be, because it's fine and abrasive, and wiping it off dry leaves swirl marks. Rinse and foam it first, and consider a sealant or ceramic coating so it has less to grip. A clay bar clears whatever has bonded to the surface.
